Method

By thermally coupling the building to the sky the excess heat can be rejected to the outside of the earth’s atmosphere to generate free cooling, and in addition, can reduce the impact of buildings on global warming. At an architectural scale, this phenomenon can be utilized to produce cooling for buildings in hot and dry climates. Besides free cooling, another major advantage of utilizing this phenomenon is that the heat is radiated beyond the earth’s atmosphere and so does not contribute to global warming.
